Founded in 1919, it is a municipal specialty hospital treating mental diseases. With medical therapy as the main operations, the hospital attaches importance to scientific research, education and mental health. It covers a land area of 30,000 m2. There are 6 ward zones and 340 hospital beds. In addition to the outpatient departments in the hospital, two ambulant clinical stations have been set up off the hospital: one in Kongpu and the other in Gaotang. The hospital receives 420,000 clinical visits annually. Of the total working staff of 1,214 persons, 153 are doctors or nurses, 9 boast senior professional titles, and 32 intermediate professional titles. There are the psychological laboratories and children's sense training rooms, and facilities like electroencephalograph and multi-transmission sleep chart recorder.
