Founded in 1947, it is the only municipal-level specialized hospital in east Zhejiang for diagnosis and treatment of various infectious and hepatic diseases. It covers a land area of 22,210 m2, with 310 hospital beds. There are seven ward zones and one hepatic disease research institute. The working staff totals 283 persons, of which 202 are medical personnel. 26 people boast senior professional titles, and 56 people intermediate professional titles. The hospital treats various contagious diseases like hepatic diseases, typhoid, diarrhea, epidemic hemorrhagic fever, Japanese B encephalitis, epidemic cerebrospinal meninggitis, measles, epidemic parotitis, and diphtheria. Ambulant clinical departments include Department of Western Hepatic Medicine, Department of Traditional Chinese Hepatic Medicine, Department of Intestinal Contagious Diseases, and Department of Respiratory Tract Contagious Diseases. Expert ambulant clinic for hepatitis has been set up, too. Also available are specialty clinics for treatment of diseases like fatty liver, liver fiberosis, hepatic diseases during pregnancy, venereal diseases and pulmonary tuberculosis.
